Bee boards and more …

Don’t miss an opportunity to educate people about bees foraging and nesting on a corporate rooftop, park or community garden.

At City law firm, Weil, we’ve worked with the gardener, Mathew Bell, for many years to improve the planting for pollinators and installed 3 bee hotels and a bee observation box for Red mason bees to nest in each year. Now we’ve added tailor-made signs informing staff and clients who use the 8th floor terrace about the gentle bees they may encounter in spring/summer.

We’ve also worked with the gardener to produce two signs that explain how the gardens are maintained for wildlife. This followed a few complains from staff and clients that the garden looked a bit “messy” and trees and shrubs looked dead and needed replacing.

We’ve also produced signs for PricewaterhouseCoopers about the bees they may see on their pollinator-friendly terraces and roof:

Research shows that the more information you can providee to people about the work you are doing to improve biodiversity, the more engaged and supportive they are. Including a QR code allows anyone who wants to know more to access a specific page on the Urban Bees website.
