They include River of Flowers,  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.alter48.fr\/-mercurial.html\"> mercurial<\/a> (urban meadow in Hackney,  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.xavy.fr\/-air--thea.html\"> <\/a> east London,  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.alter48.fr\/air--1-og.html\"> 1 og<\/a> and the tree pit planted with flowers);  Melissa Cooper&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/outwalkingthedog.wordpress.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Out Walking the Dog<\/a> blog which tracks nature in NYC and captured that greedy squirrel; Matthew Cohen of <a href=\"http:\/\/mattedesignphotos.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">mattedesignphotos.com<\/a> who took the fantastic photo of Vivian Wang with the Empire State in the background; and Silvia at <a href=\"http:\/\/globalgeneration.org.uk\/honey-club\">Global Generation<\/a> for her great photos of young beekeepers in the Skip Garden on the King&#8217;s Cross development site.<\/p>\n<div>The pioneer of conservation in the US John Muir sums up what my talk is all about.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><em>&#8220;When one tugs at a single thing in nature,  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.alter48.fr\/air--thea-pas-cher.html\"> <\/a> he finds it attached to the rest of the world.&#8221;<\/em><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Thanks to illustrator <a href=\"http:\/\/daniellecallaghan.com\/\">Danielle Callagham<\/a> for including the quote in her beautiful book The plight of the honey bee and for <a href=\"http:\/\/lga-ap.com\/bio?p=janna.levitt\">Jana Levitt, at LGA Architects in Toronto<\/a>,  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Watch this delightful animation video from River of Flowers which explains why we need more wild flowers in our towns and cities.
