It was a hot Sunday when we drove down to Blackhorse Apiaries to collect our two nucs.

John was waiting for us and we had a tea by the side of his octagonal bee shed before looking through our nucs. Both were healthy with marked queen, lots of bees and brood in all stages.

After discussion about colony collapse disorder and nosema we took our nucs away to their new homes. One in Wallington and one in Battersea.

Though WBCs are going out of favour with the professionals we decided they looked to good in the gardens so both our nucs are living in WBCs.
